Hostec 2010 at London ExCel Centre (Mon, 15 Feb 2010)
Members of Chapman-Nix will attend and participate in Hostec 2010 on Tues/Wed 2-3 March 2010. If you would like to make an appointment, please send your contact details using our contact form or via email to hostec@chapman-nix.com and we'll arrange a convenient time to meet.
Additionally, BAHA (the British Association of Hospitality Accountants) will be exhibiting at Hostec 2010 and will operate a BAHA Networking Lounge for members' use. Please stop by to say hello, sign up for membership and perhaps meet a potential client or vendor.
Chapman-Nix hosting multi-national Erasmus symposium (Mon, 04 Jan 2010)
The management and associates of Chapman-Nix are funding an event on 28 January 2010 for the eLINK project of which Staffordshire University is a partner.
eLINK is a €5.5 million EU-funded project which aims to develop new and enhance existing co-operative teaching and research links and to establish a sustainable virtual learning platform to continue collaborative activities.
Staffordshire UniversityeLINK will mainly involve the mobility of students, researchers and academics between participating institutes for education, research and knowledge transfer. The project is funding 334 candidates from Bhutan, Bangladesh, China, Nepal, Pakistan and Thailand to visit the EU partner universities.
About 60-70 are coming to Staffordshire University and will participate in this event, located at Chapman-Nix's prestigious offices at Hawkesyard Hall. A number of presentations and posters will be delivered by the eLINK researchers on the current progress of their work.
Chapman-Nix sponsoring BAHA Conference debate (Tues, 03 Nov 2009)
The team at Chapman-Nix are proud to sponsor the 4th Annual BAHA Conference debate, "Investing in New Technologies", featuring Ted Horner and Mike Preston. The conference will be held at the Sofitel London Heathrow Terminal 5 on Thursday, 19th November. Dale Nix will be attending the conference and is looking forward to the debate.
Developing new hospitality projects (Fri, 4 Sep 2009)
The team at Chapman-Nix are seeking professional PMS and EPoS trainers, installers, configuration specialists and support resources for new projects that will commence from Autumn 2009 and continue into 2010 and beyond.
Other required resources include: analysts and report writers for Vision and Crystal report suites; channel management and distribution specialists; revenue management professionals and project managers with experience delivering hospitality projects.

Chapman-Nix on trade mission to Canada (Tues, 21 Jul 2009)
Dale Nix, Managing Director of Chapman-Nix, has been selected to participate in a cross-industry trade mission to Toronto, Canada in October 2009. This trade mission will focus on developing relationships with Canadian companies working in RFID and mobile technologies.
The mission has been arranged through the offices of UK Trade & Investment and the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce; Bineet Desai (West Midlands Lead-ICT Cluster) of the C-W Chamber will lead the delegation to Toronto.
Staffordshire UniversityMRes candidate selected for Chapman-Nix sponsorship (Thurs, 07 May 2009)
Benjamin Ohene Adu, a native of Ghana, has been selected as the student candidate for the Master's research sponsorship in RFID and mobile technologies.
Benjamin will be researching innovative uses of RFID and mobile technologies for the Hospitality and Leisure sectors. His research will cover both academic and commercial fields; he will liaise with faculty and staff at Staffordshire University as well as technology vendors and in the UK and abroad.
We welcome Benjamin to the team and look forward to a great year.
Chapman-Nix at the 26th Annual Cateys Awards (Fri, 01 May 2009)
The 2009 Caterer and Hotelkeeper Awards (Cateys) will be held on 7th July at the Grosvenor House in London. Dale Nix and Phil Brown will be attending and hope to see our old friends (and make some new ones!) at the ceremony. Look us up on the table plan and enjoy a drink on us!
(Dale has had the honour and privilege of being selected as an official judge of the "Best Use of Technology" Catey award for the last two years)
